Most wedding resources online are focused mostly on the bride, making it a bit difficult for grooms to find tips on how they should prepare for their big day. However, there are plenty of ways in which grooms can prepare themselves as well! Here are some ideas of self-care practices grooms could consider doing to care for their health and body before their wedding.
WORK OUT REGULARLY
It’s so important to move around enough each day, but in the months before your wedding, it’s an especially good idea to get plenty of exercise. If the idea of a regular workout is not for you remember that, if anything, it will at least help alleviate additional stress you may have from wedding planning.
Wedding planning is quite time-consuming, so it’s understandable that it may be difficult to make the time to work out every day if it’s not already built into your routine. However, even if you just take 15 minutes to go for a daily walk, you’ll notice an improvement in your health and mood. Consider doing this with your fiancé and focus on conversation topics other than wedding planning! It will help you both mentally and physically.
MAKE A SMALL, BUT EFFECTIVE, DIET CHANGE
It’s a big task to ask someone to eat healthily or to change their diet. If you’ve been wanting to improve yours, it’s a wonderful idea to do so before your wedding. Many people struggle with completely changing their diet, so a great method to improve yours is to make small, effective changes over time. This won’t show drastic changes immediately, but it’s a great way to lead to a healthier lifestyle overtime and prepare you for the big day.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR
Whether it’s your hairdo, facial hair, or eyebrows, create a routine to care for your hair. Try using products to grow and thicken your hair as well as styling products to perfect your ‘do for your big day. Find a local barber whose style you like and figure out which cut, shave, and style looks good and make you feel your best. Getting a style that you feel good in will greatly improve your confidence for your wedding as well.
HAVE A SPA DAY
Typically, most men wouldn’t consider taking a spa day for themselves. However, there are so many awesome treatment options and benefits of getting pampered. Consider getting a massage, facial and even a pedicure. A spa day will help you relax from all of that wedding planning stress and will have you feeling wonderful for your big day. This could be a great opportunity to connect with your fiancé before your wedding as well! Plan a day to yourselves a week or two before your wedding and get pampered at the spa together before you become a married couple.
